I do not like Hollywood, it is not for me: Tom Holland
Tom Holland has made his feelings about becoming a Hollywood actor known. The "Spider-Man: No Way Home" star revealed in a new interview that, while he loves acting in films, the entertainment world is not for him.
After declaring a few weeks ago that he is taking a sabbatical from acting after completing the Apple TV+ series "The Crowded Room". Tom plays the character based on Billy Milligan, a US man who claimed to have 24 different personalities. Tom stated that he was unable to turn the character off and simply desired to be rid of him. Tom revealed that he had a hard time switching off the character and just wanted to get rid of him once and all.
Tom talked up about the industry on Jay Shetty's podcast saying, "Look, I really am a massive fan of making films but I really do not like Hollywood, it is not for me. I'm terrified of the business. I acknowledge that I am a part of this showbiz and I have to interact with everyone, but I am continually seeking ways to distance myself from it in order to live as regular a life as possible."
Tom also admitted in the same podcast that he has seen so many people lose themselves in the company. "I definitely believe it has been a recurring thought, which is don't lose yourself. I've seen so many people come before me and lose themselves, and I've had childhood friends who are no longer my friends because they've lost themselves to this profession. I just want to concentrate on what makes me happy, which is my family and my friends," he explained.
Tom Holland began his acting career at the age of nine. He shot to fame after appearing in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (2017). He is presently dating Zendaya, the star of "Euphoria."
