Filmfare Awards Bangla: Jaya, Mosharraf, and Chanchal bag nominations

The Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla has officially announced its complete list of nominations, setting the stage for a grand celebration of Bengali cinema.
The award ceremony is set to take place in Kolkata on March 18, honouring the best films released in Kolkata throughout 2024.
This year, the presence of Bangladeshi actors in the nominations has slightly decreased compared to last year's five nominees. However, three prominent names—Jaya Ahsan, Mosharraf Karim, and Chanchal Chowdhury—have secured their spots in different categories.
Chanchal Chowdhury's Tollywood debut came with "Padatik", a biopic of legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen, directed by Srijit Mukherji. His portrayal of the iconic director has earned him a nomination for Best Actor (Critics). Meanwhile, Mosharraf Karim has also been nominated in the same category for his role as gangster Hubba Shyamal in "Hubba", directed by Bratya Basu.
With both actors in contention for the same award, either of them could take home the honour. They will be competing against Abir Chatterjee ("Shri Swapankumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole"), Anjan Dutt ("Chaalchitra Ekhon"), Chandan Sen ("Manikbabur Megh"), and Paran Bandyopadhyay ("Beline").
Jaya Ahsan is no stranger to the Filmfare stage. Having worked in Tollywood for years, she is a frequent nominee and has already won four Filmfare Awards. This time, she has the opportunity to claim her fifth trophy, as she has been nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her performance in "Bhootpori".
She will be competing in this category against Aparajita Adhya ("Eta Amader Golpo"), Koushani Mukherjee ("Bohurupi"), Oindrila Sen ("Mirza"), Rituparna Sengupta ("Ajogyo"), and Subhashree Ganguly ("Babli").
