While many Bangladeshi fans weren't pleased with Hansal Mehta's Bollywood film "Faraaz" being released prior to "Saturday Afternoon." It seems there is no bad blood between the two directors as Hansal Mehta congratulated Mostofa Sarwar Farooki on his film being cleared for release.
For four long years, the film was in limbo with the censor board but fortunately, the film has finally received a green signal from the board, and is all set to release soon. The filmmaker talked to The Daily Star about his struggle with the film, and that no filmmaker should ever experience the pain that has gone through.
In one of Farooki's posts, "Faraaz '' director Hansal Mehta congratulated the director for his endeavors.
"Many congratulations bondhu. With love from the other side," wrote Hansal Mehta. Farooki responded with heart emojis and showed respect to his comrade.
Farooki's "Saturday Afternoon" was in limbo with the censor board for a long time. The film was denied theatrical release initially, on the grounds that it may deepen the religious divide in the country, and distort Bangladesh's image globally.
