After building much anticipation on social media for several weeks, Ayushmann Khurrana has finally revealed his much-awaited look as Pooja in the upcoming film "Dream Girl 2". The new poster showcases Ayushmann in the avatar of a glamorous woman, gazing at his true self in the mirror while applying lipstick.
The actor set the countdown for the film's release, which is set to hit theatres on August 25.
Sharing the poster on social media, Ayushmann captioned it with, "Yeh toh sirf pehli jhalak hai. (This is just the first look) Objects in the mirror are more khoobsurat than they appear! #DreamGirl2on25Aug #25AugustHogaMast #OneMonthToGo."
Reacting to Ayushmann's stunning transformation, his wife and writer Tahira Kashyap dropped heart eyes and fire emojis in the comments section. Actor Darshan Kumaar also showered the post with a heart and fire emoji. Fans couldn't help but praise Ayushmann's beautiful portrayal, with one fan exclaiming, "How can a man look so beautiful with a wig, makeup, and skirt!"
Comments on Ayushmann's post also poured in, with one fan playfully noting, "Ayushman used what is written on the rear mirror of the hero's bike." Another comment praised his appearance, adding, "@ayushmannk you could seriously become a heroine in a regular movie too. You look a lot prettier than some girls cast these days."
"Dream Girl 2" is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 blockbuster "Dream Girl", directed by Raaj Shaandilya. The second instalment features a new female lead, Ananya Panday, and the majority of the film was shot in Mathura.
The original "Dream Girl" saw Ayushmann portraying a call centre employee who converses with clients using a female voice. Alongside Ayushmann, the movie starred Nushrratt Bharuccha, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, and Abhishek Banerjee, and it raked in an impressive worldwide box office collection of ₹200 crore.
Initially scheduled for a July release, "Dream Girl 2" experienced a delay due to the extensive VFX work required for Ayushmann's Pooja character. Producer Ekta Kapoor emphasised the importance of delivering a high-quality product to the audience, stating that the VFX work is an integral part of the film and worth the extra time. Fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing Ayushmann's marvellous portrayal as Pooja in "Dream Girl 2" when it finally hits the big screens.
