Darshana Banik claims she was dropped from 'Lipstick' after refusing 'immoral' proposal 

The upcoming movie "Lipstick," which initially starred Ador Azad alongside Kolkata's Darshana Banik, has undergone a major casting change. The decision to replace Darshana with Puja Chery has sparked a flurry of speculation and conflicting narratives regarding the reasons behind this unexpected switch.

Initially, it was reported that foreign currency and visa complications were the main factors leading to Darshana's exclusion from the project. 

However, Darshana herself shared a different version of the story. According to the talented actress, it was due to her refusal to entertain an immoral proposal from the movie's scriptwriter, Abdullah Zahir Babu, that she was ultimately dropped from the film.

Darshana stated in the media, "I don't want to make any complaints against anyone in this regard." She recounted her conversation with Zahir Babu, during which he allegedly mentioned that the producer of the film wants to take her to a resort after signing the contract. Darshana promptly made it clear that she disapproved of such behavior, leading Zahir Babu to retract his statement by claiming it was merely a joke. Darshana firmly expressed her disapproval and requested that such inappropriate behavior be avoided in the future.

Ador to pair with Darshana in ‘Lipstick’

Darshana added, "After that day, they did not contact me again. Two days ago, I discovered that I was no longer a part of this movie. The exact reasons for my removal remain unknown. No visa issues were mentioned."

However, Zahir Babu vehemently denied Darshana's allegations. He dismissed their WhatsApp conversation as harmless banter and claimed that he had been in the film industry for 30 years without ever making improper proposals.

Regarding the decision to cast Puja Chery, Zahir Babu stated, "I initially approached Darshana to act in the movie 'Lipstick.' However, due to foreign currency problems, we had to reconsider our decision. Subsequently, we signed a contract with Puja Chery."

Directed by Kamruzzaman Roman, the action thriller "Lipstick" is set to commence shooting on July 20. The filming locations include Dhaka and Bhola.
