Chamak to debut in Tollywood with ‘Ghumbaranda’

Popular small screen actress Rukaiya Jahan Chamak is all set to make her Tollywood debut with the film, "Ghumbaranda" directed by Biswa Roy. The shooting of the film is currently ongoing in Dhaka.

 

Popular small screen actress Rukaiya Jahan Chamak is all set to make her Tollywood debut with the film, "Ghumbaranda" directed by Biswa Roy. The shooting of the film is currently ongoing in Dhaka.

In this film, Chamak will be playing the character a celebrity wife.

"I will portray the role of a very simple girl who comes from Bangladesh to Kolkata and gets married to a celebrity there. Later on, the film will highlight the struggle of blending two cultures into one and how we as a couple tackle the problem," said Chamak to The Daily Star.

When asked about how her experience was of working in a Tollywood film for the first time, she said, "It's been a great experience. All the people in the shooting set were very friendly and organized. I am very grateful to my director that I got the opportunity."

Currently, half of the shooting had been completed in different locations of Bangladesh. Chamak will be going to Kolkata in April to finish her part. The filming will also be done in the US and Australia.

The director of the film, Biswa Roy doesn't want to reveal the name of the lead actor of the film.

"I want to keep the surprise for the audience. However, I can tell you that he is a very popular actor in Tollywood," he said.

When asked how the shooting experience was with Chamak, he replied, "I found her on Facebook and seeing her work, I wanted her for the film. I think she will be one of the popular actors in the near future. She is a quick learner and very dedicated toward her work."

Produced jointly by Bangladesh and India, the film is expected to release next year.

Earlier, Chamak worked in the Liberation War-based film, "Joy Banglar Dhoni", directed by K M Khurshid. The story of this film is written by the former Minister of Shipping, Shajahan Khan. In this film, the actress shared the screen with Nirab Hossain. 

In the upcoming Eid, Chamak will be seen a drama titled "Red Rose" directed by Imraul Rafat, oppsite actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba.
