Dev, Subhashree reunite as ‘DeSu7’ begins production journey

The much-anticipated reunion of Tollywood stars Dev and Subhashree Ganguly moved a step closer to the big screen as the film currently being referred to as "DeSu7" held its mahurat ceremony on Sunday.

The project is expected to be one of the major Durga Puja releases this year. While the pair were last seen together in "Dhumketu", that film was shot nearly nine years before its eventual release, making this their first new collaboration in years.

Interestingly, the makers have yet to officially announce the title of the film. However, work on the project has already begun. Photos shared by Dev and Subhashree from the mahurat ceremony featured a production clipboard displaying the name "DeSu7" alongside details of the film's crew, sparking excitement among fans.

Reports suggest that Dev has already completed location scouting across various parts of the city in preparation for filming. Although the shooting schedule has not yet been revealed, production is expected to begin soon.

Dev first announced the project earlier this year, confirming that he and Subhashree would reunite on screen. At the time, details regarding the film's director and production team were kept under wraps.

It was later revealed that Dev will not only star in the film but also produce it under his banner. He has also written the story and will direct the project, marking a significant milestone in his career as a filmmaker.

The film will also feature Anirban Bhattacharya in a key role.

After spending the past few months campaigning during the election season, Dev has now shifted his focus back to cinema. Recently, the actor shared a gym selfie on Instagram, hinting at his preparations for the role.

"Back to cinema. Preparing myself for my next film, ‘DeSu7’," he wrote in the caption.
