Bollywood actor Tabu has stirred excitement about her possible return to the popular "Hera Pheri" franchise, as fans eagerly await the third instalment of the iconic comedy series, directed by Priyadarshan. On the director's birthday, he expressed his interest in reuniting Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty for "Hera Pheri 3".

The announcement was made after a birthday message from Akshay Kumar, who hinted at a potential comeback of the beloved franchise. Tabu, who played a pivotal role in the first "Hera Pheri" film, joined the conversation on Instagram by sharing Akshay's birthday post for Priyadarshan. She added her comment, writing, "Of course, the cast won't be complete without me @priyadarshan.official."

Tabu was a central figure in the original "Hera Pheri", which stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal in lead roles. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film was the first in what has now become a cult-classic franchise. 

The sequel, "Phir Hera Pheri", released in 2006, was directed by the late Neeraj Vora and featured a larger cast, including Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav, and Rimi Sen, alongside the original trio.

While an official announcement for "Hera Pheri 3" is yet to be made, the buzz around the film has been growing ever since Akshay Kumar teased the reunion. In his heartfelt birthday post for Priyadarshan, Akshay shared a behind-the-scenes image from the sets of "Bhooth Bangla" and wrote, "Happy Birthday, Priyan Sir! What better way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set, surrounded by ghosts… both real and unpaid extras? Thank you for being a mentor, and the only person who can make chaos look like a masterpiece. May your day be filled with fewer retakes. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead!"

Priyadarshan responded with a surprising update, further fuelling the excitement for "Hera Pheri 3". He replied, "Thank you so much for your wishes, Akshay Kumar. In return, I would like to give you a gift: I am willing to do 'Hera Pheri 3', are you ready, Akshay?" The director also tagged Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, hinting at the possibility of the full cast returning.

Though fans are eagerly anticipating the third instalment, the makers have not confirmed when production will begin.
