In a heartwarming tribute to the everyday heroes of Bangladesh, 100 rickshaw pullers will be treated to a special screening of the film "Rickshaw Girl", a story that closely mirrors their own lives.

The screening, organised by popular OTT platform Bongo, the film's digital content partner, is a fitting gesture for a movie that celebrates the spirit and struggles of rickshaw pullers, ensuring that those who live this reality are front and centre at the event.

As the film portrays the journey of a rickshaw puller, Bongo, the film's digital content partner, believes it's only appropriate to offer this exclusive screening to those who live this reality everyday. 

This unique screening is scheduled for tomorrow (February 11), at 4pm at Joy Cinemas in Keraniganj. Along with the rickshaw pullers, the event will also feature appearances from the film's director and cast members.

Directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, "Rickshaw Girl" follows the journey of Naima, a young artist with a passion for painting. When her father, the sole breadwinner of the family—suddenly falls ill, she must fight against the tide. Unable to earn from her art, she reluctantly takes up a rickshaw to support her family. The plot thickens as Naima's dreams face reality, raising the question: how will she achieve her dreams?

The film is based on the novel Rickshaw Girl by American author Mitali Perkins and is a joint production between Bangladesh and the United States.

Novera Rahman stars as Naima in the film, with other performances by Champa, Momtaz Chowdhury, Naresh Bhuiyan, and Allen Shubhro, among others.

Additionally, three weeks after its theatrical release, "Rickshaw Girl" will make its debut on OTT platforms. Starting on February 12, the film will be available for streaming on Bongo platform.
