On the month of Independence, American poet, lyricist, and singer Bob Dylan shared a clip from the documentary of the historic 'Concert For Bangladesh' on his Facebook profile yesterday.

The Concert for Bangladesh was organised by George Harrison, the late guitarist from The Beatles, and Indian sitar artist Ravi Shankar.

Out of his love for Bangladesh, George Harrison had organised a total of three projects for our country. One is the original song "Bangladesh", the second is a triple album of concert songs and the third is the film, "The Concert for Bangladesh".

This film was released on March 23, 1972 by Apple films. As yesterday marked the 51st anniversary of this wonderful event, Bob Dylan revisited the memory through a Facebook post.

The concert took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 1, 1971 to raise international awareness about the Liberation War and to fund relief for Bangladeshi refugees—who took shelter in India during the war.

Harrison, Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, and the band Badfinger were among the artistes who played at the Concert for Bangladesh. In total, 40,000 people attended the concerts, and UNICEF managed to raise over $250,000 from the initial gate receipts as aid for Bangladesh.
