Aupee Karim starrer ‘Mayar Jonjal’ will have a theatrical release
Bangladesh-India joint venture "Mayar Jonjal" (Debris of Desire) has garnered appreciation and accolades from multiple international festivals. Finally, the film is all set to hit the theatres in Bangladesh and India next month. The first look of the film was unveiled yesterday.
Produced by Josim Ahmed from Bangladesh and directed by Indian filmmaker Indranil Roychowdhury, the film marks the comeback of renowned actor Aupee Karim on the silver screen after 15 years.
The project also features celebrated Indian actor Ritwick Chakraborty, Shohel Mondal, Chandreyee Ghosh, and Bratya Basu.
The film is based on Manik Bandopadhyay's two short stories, titled 'Bishakto Prem' and 'Shubala'.
"Mayar Jonjal" first premiered at the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival. It was officially selected for screening at Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF).
