‘Amitabh Bachchan wished me luck, I am grateful’
Arguably, Chanchal Chowdhury is the biggest star in Bangladesh right now, with most of his projects reaching international acclaim.
We got to know today that "Hawa" was shortlisted for the Golden Globes. Moreover, "Padatik", the Mrinal Sen biopic which will be led by Chanchal Chowdhury, received warm wishes from one of the most legendary actors in Asia, Amitabh Bachchan.
However, it is not all great news for the actor, as he lost his father very recently. He is currently at his ancestral home in Kamarhaat, Pabna. Today is the sradh programme, being performed in the honour of his father.
"Today is a day of mixed emotions for me," said Chanchal to The Daily Star. "I lost my father a few days ago. Today, when my family and friends have joined me to honour him, it feels surreal that I would get a news like this."
He further said that his gratitude knows no end to a star like Amitabh Bachchan. "He not only shared the poster of the Mrinal Sen biopic, but wrote my name as well. You have to understand that he is not just a megastar in India, but the entire world respects him".
Chanchal further said that many have called to congratulate him. "To be honest, it is for me that the shooting of Padatik, the Mrinal Sen biopic, has been delayed. Hopefully, I can get back to shooting by the end of the month".
"In every film, you can see me in a different outlook, and Padatik will be no different," concluded the actor.
The biopic will be directed by Srijit Mukherji. Chanchal Chowdhury will star opposite Monami Ghosh.
