British actor Owen Cooper made history at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, becoming the youngest male acting winner after earning the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his role in the Netflix miniseries "Adolescence".

Cooper, 15, won for portraying Jamie Miller in "Adolescence", a performance that marked his breakout in television. His fellow nominees included Javier Bardem for Netflix's "Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story", Rob Delaney for FX's "Dying for Sex", Peter Sarsgaard and Bill Camp for Apple TV+'s "Presumed Innocent", and Ashley Walters, also of "Adolescence".

"Standing up here is just so surreal. Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple of years back, I didn't expect to even be in the United States, let alone here," Cooper said in his acceptance speech. "But I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life. I was nothing about three years ago. I'm here now."

The young actor's career is already gaining momentum. He is set to play Callum in the upcoming BBC drama "Film Club" and has been cast as Young Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell's forthcoming adaptation of "Wuthering Heights", starring Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie.
