Singer Tausif back home after stroke and head injury
Singer Tausif Ahmed recently suffered a stroke. On the morning of December 28, he suddenly fell ill and lost consciousness at his residence in the capital. While collapsing, he sustained a serious head injury, resulting in heavy bleeding and requiring 27 stitches.
Doctors later confirmed that he had suffered a stroke. Tausif returned home yesterday (January 1). Speaking about his physical condition, several media outlets reported that around 7:30pm in the morning, he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed. After that, he recalls nothing. Seeing the blood, his wife informed everyone nearby. He was first taken to a local hospital in Dhanmondi and later admitted to another private hospital. He was on life support for one day. He also shared that the treatment is quite expensive, so as he started feeling slightly better, he returned home, (today).
Tausif has been battling health issues for a long time, which has made it difficult for him to work regularly as before. He said, "Alhamdulillah, I am a little better than before now. However, there are still many tests ahead. I request everyone to keep me in their prayers."
Tausif had previously suffered from heart disease. He experienced his first heart attack in April 2022, followed by a second in October 2024. On doctors' advice, he had been on rest at home since then.
Tausif Ahmed has lent his voice to many popular songs, including "Dure Kothao Achhi Bose", "Brishti Jhore Jay", "E Moner Anginay" and "Jan Pakhi".
Although primarily known as a singer, he has also been equally active as a lyricist, composer and music arranger. His first solo album, "Obhipray", was released in 2007.
