‘This is my Eid gift to the audience’: Kornia

Popular singer Kornia is back with yet another music video, this time titled "Jamdani Saree". The Eid special track was released yesterday on her official YouTube channel.

Speaking to The Daily Star, Kornia shared that the music video was shot for the first time at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). "We went for a big production this time. Samia Othoi modelled for the video—she's a great dancer. Interestingly, this was my first time shooting a music video at BFDC," said the artiste.

Reflecting on the shooting experience, she added, "It was an overnight shoot, which matched the theme of the song perfectly. We wrapped up just before dawn. It's one of the most memorable experiences in my music career."

Regarding expectations from "Jamdani Saree", Kornia remarked, "My expectations are quite high because the song has turned out really well. I've tried to sing it differently from my usual style. It's soft, romantic, and distinct from what my listeners usually hear from me."

When asked about the timing of the release, Kornia confirmed, "This song was made especially for Eid. I'd say this is my Eid gift to the audience. 'Jamdani Sharee' is a song worth listening to."

The music video was directed by Raj Biswas Sankor and planned by Rakib Ahmmed. The lyrics and composition were done by Tanvir Ahmed, who also lent his voice to a portion of the track alongside Kornia.

Apart from this release, Kornia has also sung for the upcoming Eid film "Tagar". She is currently busy with stage performances and television appearances. 

"I will be singing live on a television channel the night before Eid. I'll also perform on Eid day and on several other shows across different channels," she informed.

Recently, Kornia also recorded a rendition of Rabindranath Tagore's "Megh Boleche Jabo Jabo". "Music is my everything, and all my dreams revolve around it," she concluded.
