Kanak Chapa celebrates 35 years in music

Renowned playback singer Rumana Morshed Kanak Chapa has marked three and a half decades in her musical journey, cementing her place as one of the most celebrated voices in Bangladeshi cinema.

Following in the footsteps of legends Sabina Yasmin and Runa Laila, Kanak Chapa has lent her voice to more than 3,000 film songs—many of which remain evergreen favourites among audiences. Her contribution has earned her the National Film Award three times.

Beyond playback, she has released 35 solo albums, expanding her repertoire beyond the silver screen. Kanak Chapa is also recognised as a writer, with three published books adding yet another dimension to her artistic identity.

Tomorrow, on the occasion of her birthday, she will reflect on her career and share personal experiences on Channel i's special programme "Taroka Kothon". She will appear alongside eminent lyricist Mohammad Rafiquzzaman. The show will air at 12:30 pm.
