Anuv Jain concert: Musicians deliver, organisers disappoint

Thursday witnessed the show "Let's Vibe with Anuv Jain", which had been the talk of the town for a while now. Starting from the initial hype to ticket prices and now the overall execution, the show had been the center of controversy. With certain uniqueness and a blend of successes and failures, the show has received very detailed reviews across spectrums.

Yesterday at the venue, it was a fully packed auditorium, not an inch to spare. The crowd was brimming with energy, waiting for "Let's Vibe with Anuv Jain" to begin. Despite the initial delay, the crowd remained eager.

The show opened with the rockstar diva herself, Xefer adorning the stage. She began the performance with her "Nei Proyojon" and "Jhumka". The emotion of freedom and defiance was palpable in the audience. As she invited Mohan Sharif on stage, the audience cheered with joy. Together they sang "Jontrona", and the audience chimed along. 

However, a sudden disruption erupted. The power crisis in Bangladesh is going through and left its mark here as well. Suddenly, the hall turned dark, and the crowd got restless. Although the lights came on soon, the air conditioning system didn't.

However, the audiences bounced with joy as Pritom Hasan appeared on stage. Pritom started with "Tumi bhenge porona ebhabe" and then proceeded to sing big hits like "Khoka", "700 taka" and "Local Bus". The audience sang along at the top of their lungs. Pritom was phenomenal on stage, his energy binding the audiences together, making them forget the utterly uncomfortable situation. 

Finally, the crowd erupted in a mad cheer, as the team of "Deora" appeared on stage. As Palakar started singing, the crowd joined in and started dancing.

But these emotions didn't last long, and soon a break was announced where the audiences were allowed to leave the hall for a while, something which had not been allowed before. This too, didn't help the people much. Because although anything would be better than the humidity inside, the extreme weather conditions outside also were difficult.

Tahsan Khan got on stage after the break and with his characteristic charm, gripped the audience once again. His performance was extremely energetic, with crowds being enchanted by his singing. They sing along "Alo", creating an ethereal moment. 

But before Anuv Jain got on stage, there was another delay. The crowd got furious at this point, shouting chants about the organizers' authenticity and dedication. 

However, things got completely different once Anuv Jain appeared on stage. With his calm, pacifying presence, he spellbounded the audiences at once. His songs had been resonating amongst the youth for quite some time now, and thus this was the best opportunity for the crowd to finally connect with their beloved singer.

When he sang "Mishri", "Riha", "Meri Baaton mein tu", "Baarishein", it was almost as if one could see it in the eyes of the audience that these songs had been dear to them in lonely times, soothing them in agony and pain.

Anuv himself had been very communicative as well, asking audiences if they ever got heart broken before starting "Gul". Bits of connection like this thus coalesced into a stream of consciousness. Hugging each other and huddled close, the crowd erupted into a full sense of self expression. It got surreal, with the much needed escape serving its purpose.

Pritom performs ‘Deora’ at Anuv Jain concert

In terms of venue and time management and capacity control, there had been numerous complaints. However, one can see the videos circulating on social media, where a perfect decoration hoists Anuv Jain's singing while the crowd vibes along. Hence, despite everything, Anuv Jain's presence in Bangladesh had been loved by all, with everyone feeling grateful seeing their dearest singer up close.
