UPL releases 21st edition of Akbar Ali Khan’s ‘Porarthoporotar Orthoniti’
Yesterday, on October 12, The University Press Limited (UPL) launched the 21st edition of economist Akbar Ali Khan's book, Porarthoporotar Orthoniti, which was originally published in 2000.
"The 21st edition of a book on a subject like economics is a very big event in the reality of Bangladesh", UPL shared via their Facebook page, adding that "[this book] is one of the most discussed, read and cited books on economics in Bangladesh".
The educationist, and a bureaucrat who served till 2001, Professor Akbar Ali Khan passed away recently on September 9. Apart from economics, he has also written about literature and language in books including Durbhabona o Bhabna Rabindranath Ke Niye (Prothoma, 2019) and Banglay Islam Prochare Shafollo (Prothoma, 2020).
However, he is mainly known for his groundbreaking work on economics, politics, and administration, their discourse revolving particularly around Bangladesh's bureaucratic system.
"Its insights into history and realism make it as enjoyable to the reader as it is deep into the subject", UPL stated about the 21st edition of Porarthoporotar Orthoniti.
