'Ramayana' ranked IMDb's most anticipated Indian film
Nitesh Tiwari's mythological epic "Ramayana Part 1" has been named the most anticipated Indian film of the second half of 2026, topping IMDb's list of most anticipated Indian movies scheduled for release between July and December.
The 20-title ranking was compiled using page views from IMDb's more than 250 million monthly users between January 1 and June 28. The list includes Indian films with confirmed theatrical or streaming releases in the latter half of the year.
Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Yash as Ravana, "Ramayana Part 1" claimed the No. 1 spot. Yash also secured another entry on the chart with "Toxic," which ranked third. The list reflects the diversity of Indian cinema, featuring films across five languages — 12 Hindi titles, four Tamil films, two Malayalam releases, one Telugu title and one Kannada film.
Anil Kapoor appears in two of the highest-ranked projects, featuring in Alia Bhatt-led "Alpha" at No 2 and Shah Rukh Khan starrer "King" at No 4. Ajay Devgn also has a strong presence on the list, with "Dhamaal 4" taking the fifth position and "Drishyam 3" following at No 6.
Sunny Deol features in the top-ranked "Ramayana Part 1" and also appears in "Ikka," which secured the 12th spot.
At No 8, "Mirzapur: The Movie" marks the big-screen expansion of the popular Prime Video crime franchise. "Ikka" stands out as the only film on the list set for a direct streaming release.
The remaining titles in the ranking are "Vishwanath & Sons" (No. 7, Tamil), "Haiwaan" (No 9, Hindi), "Eetha" (No 10, Hindi), "Awarapan 2" (No 11, Hindi), "Arasan" (No 13, Tamil), "Khalifa" (No 14, Malayalam), "I'm Game" (No 15, Malayalam), "Ranabaali" (No 16, Telugu), "Shakti Shalini" (No 17, Hindi), "Idhayam Murali" (No 18, Tamil), "Sigma" (No 19, Tamil) and "Vvan – Force of the Forrest" (No 20, Hindi).
