Shilpakala Academy hosts electronic music workshop and live show
To bring together the sounds of modern urban life, technology and creativity, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is organising an event titled "Notun Shobdo: Electronic Music Workshop and Stage Performance”.
The event will be held today (Saturday) at the National Music and Dance Centre Auditorium.
In a press release, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy said that the day-long programme will begin with an electronic music workshop from 11 am to 6 pm. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of electronic music, including sound design, beat-making, live setup techniques, and the basic use of music software and hardware.
The workshop will be conducted by Shadwaan Chowdhury, Nazmus Sakib and Hasib Mahmud, and is aimed at young and emerging musicians, sound artistes, and members of the new generation interested in music.
The second part of the programme will feature a live electronic music performance from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. Contemporary electronic musicians and sound artistes actively engaged in Bangladesh's electronic music scene will take part in the performance.
The event is being jointly organised by the Training and Production Departments of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh. The programme is being supported by Breakfast Club, an organisation of electronic music artistes.
