As one of Bangladesh’s most beloved voices, Kumar Bishwajit has long been regarded as an evergreen singer. Often described as forever youthful, he has spent decades captivating audiences with his music, delivering countless songs that have resonated deeply with listeners and stood the test of time.

Throughout his illustrious career, many of his songs have become staples of Bangladeshi music, cherished across generations. Beyond recorded music, he has continued to enthrall audiences through stage performances both at home and abroad. His immense contribution to the country's music industry has also earned him multiple National Film Awards.

June 1 marks the celebrated singer’s birthday. Kumar Bishwajit is currently residing in Canada, where he has been living for several years to support his only son, Nibir, who was seriously injured in a road accident and remains under treatment.

Despite the personal challenges he has faced, the singer remains closely connected to music and continues his artistic pursuits.

Speaking on his birthday, Kumar Bishwajit expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and well-wishes he has received from fans.

“Thank you for remembering me,” he said. “My love goes out to everyone who is showering me with affection on this special day. From the depths of my heart, I express my gratitude and love to them. The power of love is immense. There is no force greater than love in this world.”

Reflecting on the affection he has received throughout his career, the singer described public love as the greatest reward an artist can hope for. “The love of the people is the greatest reward an artist can receive. What could be a greater achievement than that? Nothing,” he said. “I truly believe that the greatest accomplishment of my career is the love of the people. So many people love me and keep me in their prayers.”

He added that the unwavering support of fans continues to humble him.
“Sometimes I wonder what I have done to deserve so much love. In truth, I do not feel I have done anything extraordinary. Yet so many people continue to love me and offer blessings for me and my family. This overwhelming affection deeply moves me.”

Kumar Bishwajit noted that such support becomes especially meaningful during difficult times.

“When people continue to love you, pray for you, remember you, stand by your side, and give you strength during challenging moments, that means a great deal,” he said. “The people of Bangladesh have shown me immense love. They sincerely pray for me and for my son, Nibir. That alone is a blessing.”

Asked about his son's condition, the singer remained hopeful while acknowledging that recovery would take time.

“Nibir is holding on. It will take time,” he said. “I ask everyone to keep him in their prayers. I hope he recovers fully and is able to live a healthy, beautiful life again. As a father, that is all I wish for.”

When asked how he was coping personally, Kumar Bishwajit paused before responding. “I’m managing. I have to stay strong,” he said with a sigh. “I have to stay well for Nibir. I have to stay strong for my only son. His recovery is my greatest wish. I know it will take time.”

As he marked another birthday, the singer had a simple request for those who continue to support him. “On this special day, I seek the blessings and prayers of the people,” he said.
