305 Bangladeshis return from UAE, South Korea, India
A total of 305 Bangladeshi citizens, who were stranded in United Arab Emirates, South Korea and India due to the coronavirus lockdown, returned home by three separate special flights today.
A special flight of US-Bangla Airlines, carrying 158 Bangladeshi nationals from the United Arab Emirates, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka at 7:13am, said Kamrul Islam, general manager (public relations) of US-Bangla Airlines.
Besides, a special chartered flight of Korean Air landed at HSIA at 3:45pm carrying 123 Bangladeshi citizens from Seoul, Wahidul Karim, a doctor at the HSIA, told The Daily Star.
Meanwhile at 10:30am, a special flight of Air India brought back 24 Bangladeshis, who were stranded in Delhi, he said.
All the passengers had coronavirus negative certificates and they were allowed to go to their respective homes with the advice of staying in self-quarantine, officials at the Dhaka airport said.
