UPDF man shot dead in Khagrachhari

A member of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was shot dead in Khagracchari Sadar upazila today.

Unknown miscreants shot Mithun Chakma in the sluice gate area around 12noon, reports our Khagrachhari correspondent quoting Tarek Mahmud Abdul Hannan, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

Locals rushed him to Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the OC said.

Law enforcers have been deployed in the area to avert any unrest following the murder, the OC said adding that police are looking into the matter.
