2 businessmen murdered in Pirojpur

Two businessmen have been killed in Sadar and Nesarabad upazilas in Pirojpur district.

The deceased were identified as Md Halim Howlader, 60, of Sadar upazila, and Jakir Hossain Bepary, 45, of Borchakathi village under Nesarabad upazila, said Hayatul Islam Khan, superintendent of police in Pirojpur.

Locals found slaughtered body of Halim near Royerkathi Government Primary School this morning and informed the police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Pirojpur District Hospital morgue for autopsy, police sources said.

“We are trying to identify the killers of Halim,” said the SP.

In Nesarabad upazila, a mentally challenged youth named Mihir Paal stabbed Jakir leaving him dead on the spot last night.

Assailant Mihir also injured himself by hacking on his own throat. He was seriously injured and has been sent to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for treatment.
