Trucker, helper killed as truck catches fire in Comilla

A trucker and his helper were burnt to death after their truck caught fire in Chandina upazila of Comilla this afternoon.

The Comilla-bound sand laden truck from Daudkandi caught fire after it hit a vehicle from behind on Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 3:00pm, Moniruzzaman, traffic sergeant of Eliotganj Highway Police outpost, told The Daily Star.

The driver and his helper were burnt alive in the fire that originated from the gas line of the truck, the traffic sergeant said.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

On information police rush to the spot and send the bodies to Chandina Upazila Health Complex.
