Teacher hacked dead, brother hurt in Kushtia attack
Unidentified miscreants hacked dead a former school headmaster and injured his younger brother critically in Bheramara of Kushtia tonight.
Mojibor Rahman, 65, a retired headmaster of a primary school, died on the spot while his younger brother Mizanur Rahman was injured critically in the attack around 8:45pm, police said.
A group of seven to eight unidentified people swooped on the siblings soon after they had come out of a local mosque after Esha prayers, our Kushtia correspondent reports quoting Nur Islam Khondkar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bheramara Police station.
Both were retunning home, the police official said.
The attackers fled the spot after chopping both the siblings indiscriminately with sharp weapons.
Police primarily suspected previous enmity between the victims and their neighbor behind the attack, the correspondent said.
Hearing their screams, locals rushed to the spot and took Mizanur to Bheramara Upazila Health Complex from where he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
