‘Robber’ killed in ‘gunfight’ at Rohingya camp

A suspected robber was killed and another injured in a reported gunfight between two gangs of Rohingya robbers at Noyapara Refugee Camp in Cox’s Bazar this morning.

The deceased was identified as Bailya Dakat, 30, one of top aides of Hakim Dakat, who was fugitive accused in many cases.

Injured Nurul Alam, who is an accused in a case filed over attack on Ansar barrack and looting, managed to flee the scene, said Ranjit Kumar Barua, officer-in-charge Teknaf Police Station.

Police, however, detained two robbers - Abdur Razzak and Abdus Salam - from the spot.
