3 ‘JMB militants’ held in Rajshahi

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested three members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) with bomb-making materials from Tanore area of Rajshahi early today.

The detainees were identified as -- Sahebjan Ali, 35, Abul Kalam Azad, 28, and Jahangir Alam, 28, our RU correspondent reports.

On information, Rab-5 members conducted a raid at Shahebjan Ali’s home at Bilsahar village around 3:30 am today, and arrested the trio, said Lt Col Mohammad Mahbubul Alam, commander of Rab-5.

During the drive, 500gm of gunpowder, two religiously inciting books, 40gm soda, 40gm limestone, five hand notes, seven leaflets and bomb-making materials were seized from their possession, the Rab official said at a media briefing this morning.
