PUST students protest ‘illegal’ show-cause notices against teachers

Students of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) this morning boycotted classes and besieged the administration building demanding withdrawal of the “illegal” show-cause notices served on its three teachers for “raising voice against corruption and irregularities by the authorities”.

The students laid siege to the administration building from 10:00am and continued their movement for two hours, reports our correspondent from Pabna.

Recently, the teachers through their Facebook posts condemned the alleged corruption and irregularities of the university authorities over admission, students claimed.

On Saturday, the university authorities served show-cause notices to the teachers, which created huge outrage among students.

Chanting slogan against the vice chancellor of the university, the students brought out a procession and held a protest rally at the Shaheed Minar in the campus after the besiege programme.

They also boycotted the classes till this noon.
