Pillow-curtain scam a pilferage only: Quader
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today described the pillow scam in Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant and curtain procurement irregularity in Faridpur Medical College Hospital as a "pilferage" only.
“No MP or minister did this… The government is ensuring punishment whoever indulges in corruption,” Quader said while talking to reporters in Bhulta area of Narayanganj this noon.
Claiming that around 17 crore people live in the country and there will be such corruption, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said, “Corruption is the way of life across the world. It is not a matter only for Bangladesh.”
Citing the government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, Quader said, “Many of our lawmakers are facing legal battle in connection with corruption allegations brought by the Anti-Corruption Commission.”
“Charges have been framed against many of them while many others have been tried. No one will be spared if they indulge in corruption,” Quader said.
