Oyasiqur murder: Charges against 5 ‘Ansarullah men’ accepted
A Dhaka court today took cognisance of the charges against five alleged members of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) in blogger Oyasiqur Rahman Babu murder case.
After scrutinising the case diary and other relevant documents, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lutfar Rahman Shishir passed the order.
The court also issued arrest warrant against two of the fugitives accused after the investigation officer prayed to the court in this regard.
The court fixed October 29 for the next hearing.
On September 2, detectives pressed charges against Zikrullah Hasan, Ariful Islam Mushfiq, Saiful Islam alias Mansur, Akram Hossain Hasib Abdullah and Junayed Taher.
Hasib, who is known as “Boro Bhai” (big brother) among ABT members, and Taher are now on the run. The other three charge-sheeted accused are in jail.
Cleaver-wielding Zikurullah and Ariful, who are madrasa students, were chased down by locals while they were fleeing after hacking Oyasiqur to death at Begunbari in the capital's Tejgaon Industrial Area on March 30.
