Oil tanker with 9000 litres fuel turns turtle in Dhaka
An oil tanker of Meghna Petroleum with 9000 litter of fuel turned turtle when it was taking a u-turn on the Airport Road in Dhaka this noon.
A wheel of the tanker broke loose when it was taking the u-turn at the intersection in front of the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12:00noon, Noor-e-Azam Mia, officer-in-charge of Airport Police Station, told The Daily Star.
Due to the incident, fuel oil spilled from the tanker and spread on the road, causing huge suffering to the commuters.
On information, two units of fire service and civil defence rushed to the spot and removed the tanker around 4:00pm, the OC added.
Later, the firefighters removed the oil spilled on the road to avert any fire incident, the police official said.
