Night guard ‘burnt to death’ in Comilla

A night guard was burnt to death allegedly by a gang of robbers at Gouripur Bazar in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla early today.

Traders of Gouripur Bazar said they found the charred body of night guard Safiqul Islam, 40, son of Amin Uddin of Paschim Huglia village, and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent to hospital for autopsy, said Mohidul Islam, superintendent of Police in Comilla.

Robbers might have set Safiqul on fire after pouring petrol on his body as he tried to obstruct the robbers, the SP said quoting traders.
