Newly appointed overseas employment Minister Nurul Islam today urged countrymen not to deal with brokers for employment in Malaysia.

The Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment minister made the comment after a sitting with a Malaysian delegation in Dhaka.

His comments were made in the backdrop of the human trafficking issue that has drawn worldwide flak. Human traffickers are known to lure people offering better employment opportunities in countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

A four-member Malaysian delegation is currently in Dhaka to finalise the mechanism of importing manpower from Bangladesh. They arrived yesterday.

Minister Nurul Islam was speaking to reporters after a meeting with the delegation in the ministry. "We are discussing the issue, but nothing is finalised yet."

Replying to a query that some recruiting agents and Malaysian companies are trying to make a syndicate, the minister said sternly: "Nobody can buy me."
