A local leader of Jubo League was shot by criminals at Bhalikia in Sadar upazila on Friday night. The injured is Anwar Hossain, general secretary of Motobi union unit of the party. Mahbub Morshed, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said a gang opened fire on Anwar when he along with his two associates was returning home by a motorcycle at around 9:30 pm, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was rushed to Sadar Hospital. The reason behind the attack could not be known immediately, said police.
