JU decides not to go for uniform admission test
After four top public universities, the authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) today decided not to adopt uniform admission test proposed by the governing commission last December.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the university's Academic Council this afternoon, our JU correspondent reports quoting acting JU registrar Rahima Kaneez.
The university will enrol the students as per its own admission tests, she said.
The decision came a day after Dhaka University and Rajshahi University yesterday took decision of not adopting the uniform admission test.
Earlier, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) and Chattogram University made similar decisions.
On January 23, the University Grants Commission (UGC), the statutory apex body for higher education, took the decision to hold uniform admission test at a meeting with vice-chancellors of public universities.
