HSC admission results by tomorrow, official says

Two days after the government failed to publish the results of the first merit list for class XI admission due to technical glitch, Professor Abu Bakkar Siddique, chairman of Dhaka Education Board, today expressed hope that it will be published by tomorrow.

"We will try our best to make public the result for the academic session 2015-2016 by tomorrow," Professor Abu Bakkar Siddique, chairman of Dhaka Education Board, said while talking to The Daily Star over phone today.

A technical team of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) is working to resolve the ministry website, he said.   

Earlier, the education ministry failed to publish the first merit list for HSC admission on Thursday and Friday due to technical fault on the ministry website.

A team of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) is trying to restore the ministry website.

"We are working with the technical team to make the efforts a success," the board chairman said.

UNB reports quoting Abu Bakkar that the Buet authorities said they found the webpage was hacked several times and steps have been taken to restore the website soon.

However, the admission seekers could not get their results on the ministry website www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd <http://www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd> till 10am today.

The website showed a message informing that the process for publishing the results was underway and new schedule for the results would be announced soon.

A total of 11.56 lakh students applied for admission as college admissions have been based on results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations for the last few years.
