Gonojagoron Mancha gives 7-day ultimatum to arrest Niloy’s killers
Leaders and activists of a faction of Gonojagoron Mancha this evening gave the government a seven-day ultimatum to arrest the killers of slain blogger and online activist Niladri Chattopadhyay Niloy.
"We will see what progress the government and law enforcers make regarding this case by next Friday," said Imran H Sarker, spokesperson of the youth-led anti-war criminal platform.
"We will go for tougher movement to push the government to bring the killers to book, if progress is not satisfactory."
Imran made the comments this evening in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh while announcing the protest programmes.
A portrait will be set up at Shahbagh tomorrow to pay last tribute to the deceased blogger and online activist Niloy.
People from different walks of lives and progressive organisations with respective banners can show their respects from 4:00pm, he said.
A mass procession will be brought out at 4:00pm next Tuesday, demanding arrest and trial of the killers and protesting the murder, Imran told reporters.
They will also hold a commemorating rally at Central Shaheed Minar at 3:00pm on Friday after observing the day countrywide as Black Day.
