Female police to join UN peacekeeping mission in Congo
A female contingent of Bangladesh Police left Dhaka yesterday to join the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission in Congo.
Led by Police Super Salma Syed Poly, the 180-member team will replace DR Congo contingent, a press release from Bangladesh Police said.
The team left Bangladesh from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport last night in a rented plane of UN.
Female police officials of the country were incorporated in UN peacekeeping missions in 2010.
