Elderly woman found dead in Narayanganj

A 70-year-old woman was found dead at her room in Narayanganj’s Araihazar upazila today.

The deceased was identified as Amena Bibi, 70, a resident of Ulukandi Purbapara of the upazila.

Police being informed by locals recovered the body around 12noon, reports our local correspondent.

The body was burnt and its hands and feet were tied with clothes and a mosquito net was found around her neck, said Akter Hossain, officer in charge of Araihajar Police Station.

“Amena used to wear gold ornaments, but we did not find any of it. The incident might be a case of robbery,” OC Akter said.   

The body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.
