‘BSF’ kills Bangladeshi on Chuadanga border

Indian Border Security Force allegedly gunned down a Bangladeshi teenager along Jibonnagar frontier of Chuadanga this morning.
The dead was identified as Shihab Uddin Sajal, 18, son of Mahbub Alam of Goalpara in the upazila, reports our Kushtia correspondent.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and local sources said Shihab along with four others took lease an Indian mango orchard, which is opposite to the Jibonnagar border.
The orchard is owned by an Indian national, a resident of Banpur in Kestaganj Thana in Nadia district of West Bengal.
BGB sources said a BSF member of Tungi camp in Nadia opened fire when Shihab and four others were colleting mangos from the trees at about 10:30am today, leaving Shihab injured.
Three of his associates were injured when they tried to get down from the trees hurriedly.
Shihan was rushed to Jibonnagar Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
The injured -- Sabuz Ali, 18, Biplob Hossain, 19, and Alam Hossain, 19, of Goalpara -- were admitted to the same health complex.
Lt Colonel Amir Mazid, director of Border Guard Bangladesh battalion-6 under Kushtia Sector, who visited the spot, confirmed the incident.
BGB sent a protest letter to the BSF camp in this regard, the BGB official said.
