3 trains run behind schedule: Official

The schedule of three out of twenty-two intercity trains that left from Dhaka’s Kamalapur Railway Station were delayed till this afternoon, said a railway official.
“Only three trains could not depart timely till 1:40pm due to excessive pressure of the passengers,”Aminul Haque, station manager of Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka, told The Daily Star.
A total of 55 trains are scheduled to leave the station today. Of them, 22 trains have departed till 1:40pm, he informed.
Among the 22 trains, only the three -- Khulna-bound Sundarban Express and Dinajpur-bound Dhumketu Express were delayed, he said.

The Nilsagar Express has been delayed for four hours while Sundarban delayed for one hour and Dhumketu for two and half hours, he added.
There is a huge rush of the home-goers in the railway station. So people are taking more time to get into the trains, he said.
The Chapainawabganj-bound Rajshahi Express was scheduled to leave the station at 12:40pm but yet to leave till filing this report at 1:50pm, our staff reporter said from the spot.
