10,000 more Bangladeshis to be able to perform hajj in 2020
Saudi government has increased quotas for Bangladesh from 1,27,000 to 1,37,000 for the next year’s hajj.
Some 10,000 more Bangladeshis will be able to perform hajj in 2020 as Bangladesh and Saudi government today signed an agreement at Mekkah, said Sahadat Hossain Taslim, president of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh, who was present at the meeting.
In the last two years, around 1,27,000 Bangladeshis were scheduled to performed hajj as per the agreement between the two government.
Bangladesh has long been demanding to the Saudi government for increasing of hajj quota for Bangladeshis.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah and Saudi minister for Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Mohammed Saleh bin Taher Benten, among others were present at the agreement signing ceremony.
