Mother, daughter stabbed dead in Gazipur

A woman and her daughter were stabbed to death by unknown miscreants in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur early today.

The deceased are Surji Ban, 75, and her daughter Madiya Begum, 50, residents of Pabur village of Sadar union in the upazila, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting police.

The daughter-in-law of Surji Ban found her and Madiya in a pool of blood when she went to their room to wake them up around 7:00am, said Ajgar Hossain Khan, chairman of Kapasia Sadar Union.

Surji Ban was already dead while Madiya succumbed on the way to the hospital.

Later, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College and Hospital for autopsy, said Ajharul Islam, assistant sub-inspector of Kapasia Police Station.
