‘Joy Bangla’ national slogan: High Court

The High Court today declared "Joy Bangla" as national slogan.

The court asked the government to take necessary steps so that the "Joy Bangla" slogan is used at functions of all academic institutions.

Important persons of the state must also use the "Joy Bangla" slogan at the end of all state programmes.

The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader delivered the verdict following a writ petition filed by Dr Bashir Ahmed, a Supreme Court lawyer, seeking necessary order in this regard.

In the petition, the lawyer mentioned that "Joy Bangla" was the slogan of freedom fighters and people of Bangladesh during the Liberation War.
