Internet subscription in Bangladesh crossed six crore milestone last month with mobile connections dominating more than 90 percent of it, the telecom authority says.

By March-end, internet subscription in the country stood at six crore and twelve lakh, Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said in its monthly report.

Mobile phone internet subscription dominated with 5 crore 80 lakh connections countrywide – accounting for about 94 percent of the overall internet connection.

Data shows 28 lakh new connections were made in March alone. In February, active internet connection stood at 5 crore 83 lakh, BTRC statistics say.
