Online application for JnU admission begins Aug 1
The online application process for admission into the honour courses of Jagannath University (JnU) under the 2019-2020 academic session will begin from August 1.
The decision was taken at a meeting of JnU’s central admission committee held at its Vice-Chancellor's office, Md Ohiduzzaman, registrar of the university, told The Daily Star after emerging the meeting today.
The online application will continue until August 20, the registrar said.
The admission seekers would have to pay online application fee of Tk 100 to be selected primarily.
Admission aspirants, will be selected primarily for Unit-1, Unit-2 and Unit-3, will have to pay an additional Tk 600 to apply online for taking part in the written tests.
The online application for written tests will be held from August 23 and will be continued till September 2, he said.
Students applying for the specialised departments like Music, Fine Arts, Theatre, and Film and Television departments will have to pay Tk 500 for the test, the registrar also said.
JnU VC Prof Mijanur Rahman chaired the meeting, while Treasurer Prof Md Salim Bhuiyan, deans, chairmen and directors of different faculties, departments and institutes and proctors were present.
The written tests for “Unit-3" (faculty of business studies) were scheduled to be held on September 14.
The written test for “Unit-2" (faculty of arts, faculty of social science, faculty of law, Institute of Modern Language, Institute of Education and Research) on September 20; and “Unit-1" (faculty of science and faculty of life and earth sciences) on September 21.
The tests will be held in two shifts – one from 10:00am to 11:30am and other one from 3:00pm to 4:30pm.
The practical and viva-voce for music department, theatre department, fine arts department and film and television department will be held on September 29.
