Graduation now mandatory for female primary teacher candidates
The government has made graduation degree mandatory for female teacher candidates of government primary school from now.
“We have fixed graduation degree as the minimum qualification for becoming head or assistant teacher for both female and male candidates,” Primary and Mass Education Secretary Akram-Al-Hossain told The Daily Star.
“We have already issued a guideline in this regard in recruiting teachers for the post of head and assistant teachers of the government primary school,” the minister said.
Earlier, minimum qualification for female candidates was HSC or equivalent degrees.
Till now male candidates having graduation degree and minimum second class or equal CGPA from any recognised university or any equivalent degrees are eligible to apply for becoming assistant teacher of the government primary schools.
