DMP announces bounty for 6 Ansarullah men
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today announced Tk 5 lakh bounty on each of two organisers of Ansarullah Bangla Team while Tk 2 lakh on each of four members of the banned militant outfit for their alleged link with recent militant attacks in the country.
The two alleged ABT organisers are: Shariful alias Sakib alias Sharif alias Saleg alias Arif alias Hadi, and Selim alias alias Iqbal, alias Mamun, alias, Hadi-2.
In a press release, the DMP identified them as “top level organisers”.
The four other ABT members for whom bounty was announced are: Sifat alias Samir alias Imran, Samad alias Sujan alias Raju alias Salman alias Sadh, Shihab alias Suman alias Saiful and Sajjad alias Sajeeb alias Siam alias Shams.
Police said the Detective Branch of DMP is investigating the killings of bloggers, progressive writers and publishers for several years with utmost importance.
On February 19 this year, the detectives raided Satarkul area of Badda and unearthed a training centre of ABT.
On the same day, the detectives also carried out search in Mohammadpur area and traced two dens where its activists were trained on how to make bombs, the release added.
The detectives also picked up two active members in the drives.
Following their information, the DB team also traced two more dens in Askona and Dakhkhin Khan area in the capital. The Dakhkhin Khan den had been using as laboratory and bomb making training centre, the DMP release said.
On the basis of confessional statements of the two detainees and evidence fund in the drives, the detectives gained detail information about the six people, DMP said in the statement.
DMP has sought all out cooperation from people of all walks of life to help the law enforcers arresting the six ABT men for the sake of people’s interest.
