DMCH doctor stabbed

A physician of Dhaka Medical College Hospital was stabbed by unidentified criminals on Dhaka University campus today, police said.

Samiul Alam Sohan, 45, a doctor of the DMCH’s burn and plastic surgery unit, came under the attack by two unknown criminals near Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall of DU around 11:00am while he was going to the hospital riding a motorcycle from Khilgaon in the capital, Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station, told The Daily Star.

The attackers, who were on another motorcycle, stabbed in his back, leaving him injured critically, the OC added.

Sohan was undergoing treatment at a cabin of the burn unit, Shariful Islam, a physician of the DMCH, told The Daily Star.
